Even so, Hotel Dusk is a slow-paced game. It requires attention to detail, occasional bursts of ingenuity, and exactly nothing in the way of twitch-reaction skill. This is not a game you play to feel an adrenaline rush, but rather to experience a story. And since the story is intriguing and masterfully written, that's perfectly fine.

Cing's previous DS creation, Trace Memory, was fairly lukewarm, but don't let that be a deterrent. Hotel Dusk is in a class of its own, with a vastly more interesting story and setting than its predecessor. It's stylish, intriguing, and unique -- definitely worth tracking down.
